Bob Rowe’s amazing career began in area clubs, coffee houses and concert halls throughout West Michigan and the Chicago area.
He started out playing to small audiences in intimate club settings and then went on to open for major artists such as country music legend, Ernest Tubb and folk icon, Bonnie Koloc.
He has performed at clubs and concert halls throughout the USA and Canada including, The University of Chicago, Governor’s State University, The Ann Arbor Road House, The Warf, in Milwaukee as well as Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago and St. Bartholomew’s in New York City.
In the l980’s Bob was offered a contract with World Library Publications of Chicago who published many of his inspirational music in Catholic hymnals, misallettes, recordings and other publications. He appeared at many sacred music festivals in major cities throughout the USA and recorded an entire series for EWTN (Eternal Word-Global Catholic Network) in 1989.
From his involvement in inspirational music Bob went on to found Renaissance Enterprises in l988-a West Michigan based non-profit organization that provides over 150 free music and arts programs in nursing homes, senior apartment dwellings and other institutions where there is little or no access to the arts through any other means.
This unique outreach-which sprang from Bob’s deep love for the elderly-garnered him the Giraffe award in l996 and the prestigious Mother Teresa Laureate in 2006 along with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former president Jimmy Carter, and Billy Graham! Mother Teresa said of Bob’s work: “Your work of love in nursing homes hospitals, for the aged and unwanted is truly the work of peace!”.
Bob Rowe has recorded over 22 albums and published hundreds of songs as well as numerous poetry compilations, songbooks and other publications.
He has appeared on the PBS, TCT, TBN, EWTN and other national and regional television networks.
His music has been featured and used in rotation on Clear Channel radio, Sirius XM radio, EWTN radio and other networks and he enjoyed chart success with his recording of “Hallelujah’ in 2010 and performs often with the legendary country music group, The Green Valley Boys.
